Does anybody know where i can buy a wetsuit in korea. In Incheon, Seoul or the surrounding area. I'd rather be able to just walk in to a shop and buy it rather than have to mail order it. Is this possible? |

Possible, surely but, you should check prices online first for a feeler. |

Is this like a speedo? If it is, I support men in speedos. |

There might be SOME shops that stock suits (but I've never seen one), but most of the dive shops in Korea will show you a catalogue, then you pick one and they will order it. Delivery here is very quick (you'll have it the next day) so I think most shops find this easier than keeping stock on hand.
You've already been to my site (scubainkorea.com) so ou know that most of the equipment links are to the manufacturers, but they could let you know where their retail dealers are.
You can also use the "shop locator" on both the PADI and NAUI sites to locate a dive shop near you (you don't really need English service to buy a suit....to go on a tour or do a course is a different story). Find a local shop and go in.
Again, I would be very surprised if you found a shop with much (if any) selection in store.
Maybe you could pick out two or three that you like, order them all and try them all on. You wouldn't be required to even buy them. WHile it is not as convenient as picking one out in the store, the rapid delivery of goods in Korea makes ordering one online or through a shop a lot less inconvenient than it sounds.
You could also go to a tailor and get your sizes taken. Amadas will custom make one for you. Some dive shops will do your sizesfor you as well and order a custom fitted suit for you.
Good luck.
PS: If you find a good shop with good service/equipment selection let me know so I can post it. Lots of people get inof from my site, but not so many share with me |

Kinda depends what kind of suit you want. There are a surprising number of dive shops around coastal towns, and I'd be surprised if you can't find a scuba diving shop around Incheon or somewhere in a decent sized city near the sea.
If you want one for triathlons, try finding a high-quality bike shop that specialises in triathlon bikes. They'll probably have some suits hiding on a rack in a corner of the shop.
Sorry not to have any concrete information. Hope you find what you're after. I reckon it's possible - Seoul has many hidden treasures - sometimes it takes a motivated Korean to help uncover them. |
