I'm ready to buy a phone, and from what I have been reading on here, LG is a good place to get a phone. I'm looking for something cheap...I'll be here for a few more years, but I'd like to see if I can get a phone that can be used in the US. So my questions are:
1. Does anyone know off-hand which models can be used in Korea and in the US?
2. Can I buy a good phone for around 30,000W?
3. How much am I looking to pay other than for the cost of the phone?
4. With basic service, how much am I looking at pay a month? I definitely don't think I am going to go over minutes...I have less than 10 people who I will be calling.
Advice for other companies/phones is greatly appreciated:) |

I have a pretty good (by UK standards) LG phone (the LC3500 - makes calls and texts and has a E-K dictionary...K-E would be nice though) that was W40,000 with my contract - it seemed to be their cheapest model, though I think used phones go for less.
I'm on the cheapest monthly plan, which is something like W13,000 - I don't know the exact rates (they'll be in the brochure though), but I use my phone lightly and my bill runs to around W20,000 a month. As far as I know there isn't anything else to pay for (though they will try and sell you extras like customisable call-waiting music and text packages which you may or may not need). |

1. don't know
2. yes I bought my phone for 30,000won brand new
3. 4.you pay 30,000 fee in the beginning and about 30 a month. you can get a special plan with more air time or more texting. your bills come written in english now so you can know what is what. They will also automatically debit from your account if you want.
Only down side to LG is a lot of spam calls and text messages. |

I have this deal. 13,000 a month plus 108 won per minute talking time. I haven't encountered any hocus pocus, such as the evasive business practices I experienced in the United States by telecom companies. I have been happy with it, and it's a nice phone with several desirable features.
