I've worked for SMOE for about 3 weeks and have to teach the teachers for two one hour periods. One is an intermediate class and the other is for my co-teachers who speak no English, and unfortunately my principal is also in this class. Does anyone have any tips for where to being with Adults who have very little knowledge of English. I don't want to insult them by using some material that is oriented towards children. Any links or tips would be greatly appreciated. |

I can't imagine anything more awkward than teaching non-English speaking English teachers with their principal present. |

Do you have a co-teacher? Ask if you can co-teach the class so your co-teacher can explain some things in Korean when people don't understand. That's what I'm doing and it works pretty well. The teachers are smart, just not so hot at English.
Also the "What to teach teachers" discussion has come up a lot lately--you won't have to search too far back to find this topic posted a few times. |
