I don't know any places really, but have you checked out the national parks? Bukhansan is one and they have camping lots available on the mountain.
Good luck....I love camping! |

Skilmi Beach on Muui-do is nice.
Just take an airport limousine bus to Incheon Airport. From there, at Exit 5, get a 222 bus to the dock. Take a ferry and another quick bus ride (uncertain of the number). The camping fee isn't very much. Nice place. |

Thanks, I'll keep the above in mind; sounds good. Reminds me of two FTs telling, years ago, of taking a ferry to a small island some 70+ km from Incheon port, and staying overnight at a minback: a quiet and peaceful time, by the sounds of it...sorry, I don't have more specific details.
Also, and kindly excuse my continued vagueness, immediately west of Seoul's World Cup Stadium (subway station # 619) is that hill that used to be a landfill - you can walk to the top, and there are tall, steel windmills there. Well, between that hill and the Han River is what I understand is a (30 place+ ?) public camp site.
And...does one have to walk with your camping gear (tent, cooking utensils, etc), or can you rent them at campsites in Korea? |

You need to bring your tent in. They do have these little cabins you can rent that are quite charming, though can be a wee bit expensive. Have fun! |

The campground on the Han river near the World Cup stadium is called Nanji campground. The park next to it isn't bad either, it's called Haneul Park.
I also recall taking a bus to Chunchon once and (heading east away from Seoul) passing by a campground next to a small river in a foresty area. Can't give you much details than that but it looked really nice.
Also, there is a campground next to a mountain behind Seoul Grand Park in Gwacheon. There are tents permanently set up there that you can rent. |
