Florida teens who believe drinking a cap of bleach will prevent HIV and a shot of Mountain Dew will stop pregnancy have prompted lawmakers to push for an overhaul of sex education in the state. Another myth is that Florida teens also believe that smoking marijuana will prevent a person from getting pregnant, Local 6 reported. |

I don't believe. I hope it's not true. If it is true, help us all. |

googling it turns up several other sources with the same story.
Now, it's distressing that abstinence only education is doing so poorly but what is just so much more shocking is that ANYONE can be convinced to drink a cap of bleach.
How dumb are the kids who fall for that stuff? I mean, the pot as a birth control device is based on the idea that thc does affect sperm mobility and it's ability to break through the egg coat, but it's affect is pretty negligable (but that's what happens when scientific information is not clarified for the public).
Also looks like another message from DARE just came and bit them back in the ass. |

A shot of bleach with Mountain Dew. Well I have to give them credit for creativity borne out of desperation
This is one result of the Republican mentality of what ultimately boils down to no sex education at all.
So isn't it interesting that (overwhelmingly) male legislators voted to have insurance companies cover Viagra--but not the pill for women.
Watch McCain choke on the question: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2y8dYwq01g
So you see it's ok to cover the cost of old men's boners, but not the cost of keeping the popsies they're bonking from getting pregnant.
Shameful stuff.
I'm gobsmacked these clowns were actually voted in to govern (electoral cheating aside.) |
