ok, its possible there is something very simple i am missing here and posting here is a last resort since i may very well end up looking like a moron. at any rate, can someone pm me or post here step by step instructions on how to remit overseas? its the first time i've done it, and as far as i know i have the correct account. i have a "deposit" acct and a "passbook" acct. when i went to the bank i had my teacher explain that i needed the online banking. got that, i even understood that there is a separate acct that the remittances come from. i just cant seem to figure it out, i was on there for hours messing with the different transfer options. just when i thought i had it i got an error message that said "Prior to instructing wire transfer you should designate keb as foreign exchange bank" anyone understand exactly what that means i should do? i mean, i thought i had done that, perhaps i have the wrong account set up for transfers, but i dont even know. bottom line, i'm confused, irritated, and desperate for any help. i could call them but the woman last time didn't speak any english, and i certainly dont know enough korean to get my question across. any help at all is welcome. |

when setting up your account you should have designated your home back as the receiver account (where you can wire money to). I bank at KEB and had issues when trying to wire money my first time (now I don't plan on doing it for a long time considering the exchange rate)
bottom line is -
1) hopefully you were set up correctly when you first set the account up
2) there IS a help number listed on their website... one of the options is in English (I think you punch 2 for English help, it's the first thing you are asked after dialing) . I called and got an english speaking rep. |

can you even log on into your keb online account?
you should have received a funny little "decoder" card which you will need each and every time you log in,, and to do any transaction. It has a bunch of double digit numbers in various sequences. if your transfer account was set up correctly it should be automatically input into the account as the receiver account should you wish to wire money. |
