| After 4 years in Seoul, my husband and I are thinking about getting out of the city. I've read up on most of the discussions on Geungnung. However, we want to find our own apt. we don't want to have to rely on any hagwon or school. Has anyone currently living in Geungnung found a place on their own or can recommend a real estate agent? I know there are tons around but I would rather go to one that someone can recommend. We can speak a fair amount of Korean. We'll be going out there this weekend to scout out the area. Any suggestions are appreciated! |

my wife and i found that using the internet/local papers to find living accomodations was easier than using the real estate people. however, since you're not from the city, they can probably be able to show you places much easier than relying on your cell phone/map!
what kind of place are you looking for?? apartment, 2-room, house??? basic costs for a 23 pyoung apartment are are close to 60,000,000 won for key money and no monthly rent. Or around 45,000,000 plus a monthly rental price of 200,000.
if you have any specific questions about Gangneung, let me know. |

Thanks for replying!
We're looking into moving into a 3 bedroom in one of those typical huge apartment complexes. We want to teach English out of our apt. and stop working for schools and hagwons for a while. We were going to start it here in Seoul, but we're thinking why not get out of the city? (My husband surfs) I know that the English craze is everywhere, but I'm a bit concerned if it's as in demand out there as in Seoul. Do you know anyone else who's teaching out of their apt. and if it's working out for them? In korean it's called kwa-i-bang. |
