| Do most of your classes get cancelled in the weeks before exams. Our exams start on Oct 6 th and my classes are already being pushed aside. |

| If your co-teachers are behind and have not covered all the material with their students yet for the exam, then yes they will usually cancel your classes to get more time with them. |

Fewer classes
Yes, this is happening in my public schools. It's important for the teachers to coach the students on what exactly will come up in the exams otherwise where would fair testing be... |

| What age group? Elementary, middle school, high school, or all of them. I haven't heard anything about this. |

Plus side: There were no classes this week, and there will be no classes next week.
Down side: I still have to go to work and try to make myself useful everyday. |

| Wow... I've never had classes cancelled before exams (for the reason mentioned). |

| Yup, I've already had a few canceled and I'm guessing next week is going to look even patchier. |

Classes is a count noun. Use 'fewer', just as Pootle said. |

I never get the week before exams off (HS), but now and then a teacher will ask if they can take my class.
I know that the students are cramming, so I play a short game (NOT hangman!) for about 15 minutes, then let the have "free study time". I've prepared them as much as I could (lots of vocab and definitions) so now they're on their own. |

| I've been encouraged at my PS to give my classes to my hs girls to use as self study time. |
