As many of us Canadian teachers know there is another PM election coming this month. I'm sure most of you have watched the debate (www.ctv.ca) or will eventually. As important as the US election is, the Canadian election matters to us Canadians more than what will happen south of the 49th.
It's important because, though we're expats we are still a part of our nation and we are still able to have our voice heard to say what goes on in our country. Even though absentee voting isn't practiced it's important because some of us will go back within the next 12 months... even in just fora visit.
It's important to the nation that we have a leader that can make sure our programs that are in place are funded and that we can still afford them. We also need to make sure that the incumbent leader does what they say they are going to do. The Liberals and the Conservatives have been in power since the dawn of time and the NDP and Greens have never had a shot at messing up the nation.
Who do you feel best represents your opinion on the role of Canada?
Who do you feel will do the best job taking care of our nation (for the next 6 months Rolling Eyes ) until the next PM comes in?
What do you think of the parties and their leaders in general? |
