I can 100% promise that there is no legit dealership selling a Sonata 2 with 250k on it for 1.5 million. I bought the same car with 175k for 600,000 from a dealer 8 months ago. |

The OP is asking waay too much!
The Kia enterprise which is a very nice car in terms of options, power what not....there are some going for 2-2.5mill.
Daewoo arcadia
1999 model decked out.....2.5mil, and others for as low as 1.8mill (around 170k on the dial)
I think the above poster who said 800k is right on target. |

My Hyundai Grandeur 1994 is falling to bits at 140000 kms. At 250000 km all the parts on the car will need replacement over the next few years. CV joints, bushes and other drive train parts, air con filter, power window wires, wheel bearings, starter motor, alternator and on and on. If you replaced but a quarter of the running parts it means a lot more future money to sink into it. And sudden trips to the body shop.
If it has had head gaskets replaced and at the same time replaced piston rings and bottom bearings, done a valve grind and a rebore, then it may be worth over a million won as the engine will be well sealed.
But, the running parts on usual cars this age and use are worn out. One would have to see the list of your repairs and replacements to work out a value me thinks.
When you say a brake job, does that mean replaced the cylinders and the master cylinder as well as the pads?
What I'm saying is if the work on it has been fully done, not patch-work, then it could be worth 2 million won. |

It is hard to tell if the OP is being serious or not. The car I got for 600,000 ran for an entire year and the only service it needed was oil changes. You can get a decent car for 600,000 - 800,000 won easy here in Korea.
Don't disguise the fact that you are trying to screw someone as "It is a fair starting price." We arent used car experts here but we also arent used car dumbsh*ts |

I figure you can get about 1 million for this car. Anyone paying more is a sucker.
First of all Hyundai cars in Korea are a dime a dozen. It's not like you are selling a hot commodity. Most car-driving Koreans would not consider a thirteen (probably fourteen) year old car.
Someone in the used car market has plenty of options. At this point they can grab any 90s car and shop for the best savings and make out about the same.
You have 155,000 miles on a car in Korea. We're not talking the best sort of driving conditions in this country either. Hyundai's aren't exactly reliable cars. As you noted you've already dealt with transmission, radiator, aircon, engine and head and so many other problems you cannot remember them all. That's not a good sign. Replaced parts never make a car like new. There is a reason new engines come with limited warranties. They are never as good as factor installed parts calibrated by machines. Plus there is no telling how many of these parts were aftermarket refurbs, etc.
At this point any car with 155k miles on it is on its last legs. We're not talking about a german made car, or a diesel engine that will run forever. It's near pasture time for this brand of car. Anyone buying it is taking a gamble on how long it will last... maybe a year... they might as well gamble on a cheaper option.
I reccomend diesel cars as age progresses. The engines are better and will hold stress longer. A dealer would not buy this car for much at all. Maybe 500-600 cash. Mark up for private retail is about twenty-five percent at best. Generously, you may expect reasonable offers between 800-900. |

Here:
****1.5k Diesel engine on facebook. 1995, 2 door, 2.5diesel engine, galloper
http://www.seoul2b.com/news/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/picture-190.jpg
Granted, not the same care type at all. Most people on here don't have families and can get by with two doors vehicles like this. Not sure the mileage but it's a diesel. Plus, it markets as a more expensive car initially anyway. For a similar price I'd take this car first.
****ANOTHER FACEBOOK CAR:
"Im selling my 1996 Kia Sephia... Less than 80,000 Kilometers on the clock." blahblahblah...
Dramatically less miles. This means the engine probably has a lot more life in it. It was probably just used as a local shopper or in a two car hosehold. The guy wants 800k for it.
Now if I'm going to buy a car of this sort. I'll take the kia for 800k with dramatically less miles anyday over what you are offering.
Anyway, just a brief look at better options given your price on english based sales sites.
***** Last example of a better buy from Facebook *****
