I am not sure what they think but Sticking teachers in Sex hotels for two weeks when they arrive here in Korea seems to me a little wrong.

The impression is way low. Being a guy it anit all that bad even though i hate it. But young Brit or US girls is really out of order.

I was told to grin and bare it but to be honest why the hell should i. Its not what i had in mind. Any one coming here for the first time needs to be aware of this.

But hey at least i get a free pack of condoms everyday!

Every cloud has a silver lining.

Bah.

The major problem is housing.

It is not that they want to, but that they are forced to. Of course planning isn't the strongest characteristic of certain hagwon owners ...

Bunch of cheap fks. Hope they don't plan on you working hard for them. They should at least be paying for your meals. It's not like you can cook where you are. But no. That thought wouldn't enter their heads. After all, you came from Somalia. Stuff like that isn't expected in Somalia.

Maybe you got a bad sex hotel.

A lot of the sex hotels are one of the hidden gems in Korea. I have used them many times for a cheap place to stay in different parts of Seoul. I have recommended them for parents of other teahcers to stay at if they want a cheap place to stay.

They aren't usually that seedy and most are also very clean and fairly spacious for $40 or $50 a night.

I did it. It's better, IMHO. Then maybe you get a chance to have a say on where you'll live.

Apartments are tight right now, as nobody wants to buy.

Many of these hotels are pretty nice, as long as you can shut off the lights and there aren't any peepholes or pin-cameras!

It's much better than the alternative" Homestays" living with a Korean family. I've heard horror stories of people forced to attend church, given a strict curfew and treated like a 13 year old.

Really, you don't like them?? I say, if they had a hot plate, sink and a decent fridge, I would love to have my school put me up in one. Clean, great security, a huge bed that I don't fall out of, a real bathroom with separate shower and tub (for 2), large flat screen tv and basically double the size of the closet they set me up with.

Oh yeah, soundproof walls so I don't have to hear the guy above me walking on his heels all night, or the Korean couple beside me arguing everyday or even the kids screaming from the building beside me.

When my girlfriend came up for a visit, we stayed in one for a week. For the price we paid we would have just got a basic size room in a decent hotel for one night, maybe two.

So, yeah, you could say that I like them. Wish we had something like that in North America.

I agree and much prefer them to my noisy apartment complex.

The Tryst Hotels are great. Black lights and all. I especially like those with round beds. Don't care much for the porn on the TV, but overall I love 'em. My road trips are planned around my overnight stays, which 95% of the time are at Love Shacks.

Certainly the best advice at a love motel is to "grin and bare it!"
