Whats up with that?

So I went to Yongsan for the first time today. Big place, easy to get lost and know where to go. I just went to two malls because it was getting late. The one directly in the station, and then the other one next too the station. Are there more?

Because these people did not seem like they wanted to bargain. I am trying to buy the EEE 1000H, but everyone is like 650,000; and I'm like thats about 100,000 too much, and they're like 650,000.

So what am I doing wrong...am I in the wrong place? How does a newb get a deal in this place?

You don't really get a 'deal' at Yongsan. They don't compete with each other and they all buy off the same suppliers. Mainstream PC's and low-end digital cameras are about the only things worth going to Yongsan for.

Get a Korean friend to do a quick check online. It should be cheaper. Then get your friend to buy it for you, and you transfer the money to their account.

For computer stuff:

The I'Park Digital Mall (the one in/above the station) is the most expensive place in Yongsan.

The charter bus terminal building (the 4 floor blue building) is in the midrange.

The Seon-in plaza is USUALLY the cheapest (up to 1/3 cheaper than I'Park) depending on what you are buying. You can often match or beat the Danawa price over there.

If you come out of the station, turn right. Go to the end of the plaza. Look across the rail yard and you see the big blue building (terminal). To the right of that you see a building with a big GIGABYTE sign on it. that is the Seon-in plaza.

Wow, thanks!

The tips are helpful, especially that map (thanks Tom). Yeah, I went to the nicest place first and had a feeling right away that it was the wrong place. Figured that it was too nice to have a deal. I'll check it out tomorrow.

Not sure if they'll all be open tomorrow or not (holiday).

That's where I went to buy mine. They charged me 600,000 for the 160GB version. I go them to add an additional gig of memory for 30,000 won. Every vendor in that building that had them was charging 600,000 won for the 160GB version and 570,000 for the 80GB version.
