I study with lots of Japanese who stay in a hasookjip for one month or two. They stay in Sinchon. |

you can but its really at the discretion of the owner. Some will have no problem, others will press for a longer stay. Some will insist that you pay all the rent for however long you're staying up front if the stay is less than 6 months.
It really just all depends on the owner.
A good way to find a Hasookjip in the area you want is to find a university in that area. Then just ask the university to give you a list of the hasookjips in that area. Then you can either call them or visit them in person and discuss your plans.
also if the residents of the hasookjip are mostly female, sometimes they wont rent to a foreign male. Not always but sometimes.
If money is a concern DEFINETLY go the goshiwon route, its cheap. Aftern a week you dont notice the lack of space. |

yeah id definitely find a homestay from university lists. I've heard some mild horror stories.
have a nice chat with the potential families too, even a month can be hell sometimes. |
