I'm wondering if I should be worried about this. Friday I went with my boss to immigration to extend my E-2 for 6 more months. This is the second time we've agreed to a contract extension.
The last time we did this they put a stamp in my pasport that said "Extension of Sojourn" and indicated the date to which we had agreed to extend. They also amended my ARC to indicate the extension.
This time they amended my ARC but didn't put a new "Extension of Sojourn" stamp in my passport. They just left the old one which indicates my visa expiration date as next Monday. I tried to convince them both I needed a new "Extension of Sojourn" stamp in my passport but got the "pawbo waygook" response from both my boss and the immigration guy.
I'm concerned because I'm going home for xmas soon and will come back 2 weeks later. My ARC card says I'm good until next June but I have nothing in my passport now that shows a valid E-2. What are the chances this will cause a problem when I come back after xmas? Anybody know. |

I've been on the same work visa since december 2001 and never had anything stamped into my passport. just on the alien card. have been in and out of the country 7 times and never had a problem. Hopes that helps. |
