It's been on my mind lately, and there's been a bit of murmuring about it too. Do you guys think it's time for another?

The deal: Bring the clothes/shoes/accessories you no longer want. Find some new ones you do want. Sometimes other useful things are included in the swap, such as flat irons, good books, etc... but when I hosted one last summer I got about a half dozen blank children's notebooks left behind in my apartment, so I think you can leave that sort of thing at home. Smile Whatever is left over will get donated. People often bring some snacks and drinks to enjoy while we try on clothes.

The idea is that many western women often have trouble finding clothes that fit them well in Korea, so we can help each other out a bit with the clothes we no longer have a use for. In the past, women of all sizes have come to these events and I'm pretty sure most everyone has walked away with at least something new.

I'd like to throw the idea out there, because as much as I'd like to I won't be able to host it this time around. The piles of clothes usually do take up a bit of space, so if anyone has a large area available to them and is willing to host, please say so. It would be great if you also knew of donation sites in your area too, though that's something we could all figure out together.

All right! What do you guys think?

*Edit: I suppose I should add... I'm looking to organize this event in Seoul, and a central location is usually best for the most people.

I like the idea! I'm going back home in 5 months and realized I accumulated so many things, especially clothes that I barely ever wear (b/c I get bored quickly), so that would be great. Unfortunately I cannot host it, but I'd like to attend.

I'm in- I have tons of stuff and would love to trade (mostly clothes). We need a host though. If you find one, I can get some friends in too.

Well, I went ahead and made a facebook event, as there are lots of people who don't read Dave's. Maybe it's a step towards finding a host. Smile

This sounds like a great idea! I just rsvp'd maybe on the facebook event - depends on when/where it is and if I can get the stuff I have in storage before then. I noticed that some people were suggesting going to a coffee place or even a park to hold the event, but I was wondering - wouldn't we need more privacy if everyone is going to be trying on clothes?

That's my opinion too, which is why I hope we can find an apartment. I'm sure one will turn up. Smile

I'm interested, only I don't live in Seoul, hence I cannot host. The last place was pretty cool, except it was freezing cold.

Bump!

Please note changes to the facebook page, too. We're trying to choose our location now! If you don't have a facebook account, please post here whether you would prefer to have the event in the Yongsan area or in the Songpa area of Seoul.
