Hey, I'm not sure if this goes here but I searched around and couldn't find the answer anywhere else.

I'm heading to Tokyo for the long weekend in May and am flying out of Gimpo. I need to purchase a single re-entry but am unsure if they issue them at Gimpo. Can anyone confirm this for me?

Also, am I correct that I do not need a visa or anything else prior to entering Japan?

Thanks!

You don't need anything to enter Japan. I think they still just put a sticker in your passport on arrival.

Re-entry via Gimpo Confused Not sure. There is only about 2 or 3 international flights a day from there. Phone them in advance.

The best bet is to do it online, they process it and send you a certificate thing to print out which you just take with you to the airport,

http://www.hikorea.go.kr/pt/main_en.pt

have to register first but it takes about five minutes flat.

Did it myself this morning, I'm in exactly the same boat as you, going to Tokyo for the long weekend.

This is bad information! There are far more flights than that! For example, here are the flights for one day from Gimpo to Tokyo/Haneda:

Quote:
Asiana Airlines OZ1025 Gimpo -> Tokyo/Haneda 08:45
Korean Air KE2707 Gimpo -> Tokyo/Haneda 09:20
Asiana Airlines OZ9102 Gimpo -> Tokyo/Haneda 11:55
All Nippon Airways NH1292 Gimpo -> Tokyo/Haneda 11:55
Korean Air KE5707 Gimpo -> Tokyo/Haneda 12:50
Japan Airlines JL8832 Gimpo -> Tokyo/Haneda 12:50
Asiana Airlines OZ1045 Gimpo -> Tokyo/Haneda 15:55
Korean Air KE2709 Gimpo -> Tokyo/Haneda 16:40
Asiana Airlines OZ9104 Gimpo -> Tokyo/Haneda 19:30
All Nippon Airways NH1294 Gimpo -> Tokyo/Haneda 19:30
Japan Airlines JL8834 Gimpo -> Tokyo/Haneda 20:10
Korean Air KE5709 Gimpo -> Tokyo/Haneda 20:10

I am not sure what Soviet Man is talking about. Given his thread about Thailand, it isn't a surprise. You can apply for it online if you want.

actually S. Africans have to apply for a visa - it's not automatic

as for Gimpo - I thought non-Ks could only fly in and out of Incheon for international flights?

has this changed?
