I've just landed in Busan for my first ESL tour. I'm the only teacher at my school so meeting people requires that I just go to bars at chat randoms up, something I'm not a huge fan of doing, at least when I'm trying to make friends rather than simply hook up.

So, are there any nerds in Busan who want to hang with a noob? I'm reasonably awesome and interested in most things that aren't sport related, though next season I'm all about going to see the local baseball games.

PM me if interested, and please note I'm male so the usual expat 'let's meet the girls' thing is wasted on me.

Cheers.

Might be, cowboy.

What I meant was that apparently when the ladies post on here begging for friends they get lots of response from the gents who want to meet them just to check them out. I was making the point that would be wasted on me. Now if the ladies want to give me a cruise, and all the better if they're confessed nerds, they can feel free.

You may be a nerd, but ya don't have to act like one....if you see some waegooks, just introduce yourself and mention your new....and I doubt most girls actually take up those random offers to by guys online to "hang out".

Read this guys quote under his avatar. I guess he was too scared to write gay so used the word nerd. Each to his own. Maybe buddy nights with the ladies you would fit right in.

Trying to make friends on Dave's is likely to be as successful as walking up to foreigners on the street and saying "I'm new, let's be friends!!" So I'm sorry but it looks like you might just get a lot of "You're GAY!!!" comments now.

By the way, I live in Busan too, been here since late August. I'm not sure if I'm a nerd, but I don't like sports. I just tell my students I do so we'll "bond."

I'm in Busan and learning about Drupal and how to get the internet working by calling tech support with a knowledge of five Korean words:

'gimbap', 'mek jew', 'just say yo', 'Cham sam knee da'.

If you want to score data, then PM me.
