Anyone done both?
I'm currently half-way though level 4 of SNU's night classes.
I'm thinking about doing full time classes next year and am thinking about
doing them at Sogang rather than SNU. |

I'm thinking about taking the night classes at SNU. Just curious what you think of the program? Also, did you take the 1.5 or 3 hr classes? |

I hear Sogang is good for the non-Korean foreigner in that it stresses communication, but to learn Korean more deeply, you might shop around.
Yonsei, Ewha and a host of other schools have Korean-language programs. If you have time, perhaps visit as many schools as you can to get a better idea. |

Sogang is the best if your goal is to learn quick and easily.
Yonsei is good if you want to spend a lifetime studying Korean.
SNU is well, a mix of both perhaps? But definitely the hardest of all to get accepted into (regular programs) |

SNU is only hard to get accepted into if you are trying to become a university student, not a student at the Language Education Institute.
I'm a student there as well OP, day time classes though. I've always wondered what the night time classes were like. Probably totally different teachers, every teacher I've had there has been excellent, 3 teachers for each level so 9 total teachers so far. |

Well, SNU require:
* Statement of purpose for Korean study
* Resume
* Diploma or Certificate from the last school attended
* Transcript of results from that.
* Photograph
* 50,000 Won
* Korean citizen sponsor (for emergencies)
* Passport
Granted, the other universities also require most of those items, but they don't care much about your qualifications and if you happen to leave something out they are perfectly fine with it until you get it sorted. With SNU, they are strict and selective about students. I've heard of some people who didn't get any response to their applications. |
