Okay so I have go a new seagate 500gig harddrive which I am running as an external. I managed to put around 300gigs of data on it before it would start acting up and preventing any further data being added. I was still able to add small files sometimes. It would also bring up a usb error message (my os is in korean so?). I have tried two different cases but no go
I have since formated, scanned with seagate tools, passes the short generic test but fails the long. checkdisk starts but then can not complete and the dos screen disappears before I can read the error message.
The drive also sometimes makes a clicking noise.
The drive is fked right? I am going to have to return it right? |

if its making clicking sounds it sounds like its dead. I use to do a trick or sealing HD in a bag then sticking them in a freezer for about 10-15 minutes then pluging them in and yanking evertthing off it. Then send it in. |
