If you're on an E-2 visa, you are much better off buying travel insurance than any of the local policies. We're talking saving 4x the cost. I'm assuming you're on an F visa of some sort, right? If so, you can't qualify for travel insurance, and must go the more expensive Korean route (although the policies can cover a wider range from what I've seen).
You can get a combo health/life policy from Samsung. That's what I have. I pay about 120,000 per month, but I don't do the built-in life savings, though. They had policies ranging from 85,000 to 250,000 or so for me (the more expensive ones with built-in savings). |
