I was trying to watch the movie "Religulous" online today and stumbled upon an "attack site". If you don't know what one is, it's when Korean net-nannies deem a site "unsafe" and block it's content from the ISP subscriber.
Thinking it was nonsense, I went to a proxy surfing site and bypassed the warning. Bad idea.
The next thing I know I'm getting pop-ups galore and fake anti-virus programs were installed that seemed to be taking over my computer. I ran several legitimate anti-virus programs, made sure I deleted every trace of the malware programs (I also checked the registry) and then I restarted.
Next thing I know, my computer wouldn't restart. I had to reinstall a fresh copy of Windows over my old copy, which restored it, just to get past the Windows loading screen.
Just thought I'd share. Don't go to "attack sites"! |

To fall for one of these attack sites you have to be square on the chart where the the doctor in your avatar is pointing at. |

Not all 'attack sites' are dangerous. At school, I can't access the Guardian newspaper website. I know it's liberal agenda might not to be everyone's taste but there's no reason to block it. |

No, the attack sites (as the other poster pointed out) are sometimes considered attack sites for the wrong reasons. I thought that my ISP might not appreciate me downloading illegal movies, which is why I was quick to circumvent the warning by using a proxy.
However, it was an attack site for a very good reason. Tread cautiously |

Can you blame me? The link said something about there being three horses AND a midget. Some things you just have to see for yourself. |

I think it was the boyfriend of that girl you've been after. He did it. |
