I'm looking to get a kickin commuter bike and I'm thinkin either the Roadwin R 125 EFI or the Comet 250 R.

Anyone out there have the chance to ride both of these bikes? Anyone own the Roadwin R EFI (the VJi in Korea)? Or a 2007-2008 Comet R?

Just want to know if Roadwin riders think it has enough power for higher speed traffic (80km/h-100) and if they think it's enough to make up for the generaly poor fit an finish of the Hyosung Comet (Daelim bikes usually have pretty good quality...better than Hyosung in my opinion and I might be willing to take a little 125 with a top speed of 130km/h over the 250 with 150km/h limit).

The Comet 250 shifts like shite, has the cheapest starter and ignition system ever, has poor braking (although easily fixed with double disks up front) and suspension I think really isn't up to the over all quality of the engine...that little v-twin is a fast little commuting beast that can rip through traffic like a hot knife through butter and still have enough juice to make a few twisty roads fun...but the suspension doesn't inspire me to take corners as hard as the little engine can go. too bad, nice little engine on this bike, and pretty nice looks too.

Does anyone own a new 2007 or 2008 Comet? have they fixed some of these problems with the new higher price tag? (It's now the same price as buying a Honda VTR 250 in Japan....now that is a bike I'd ride to work....but not at the 6 mil it costs in SK)

I wish this was about the Honda 250 VTR or the new Kawasaki Ninja 250....those are bikes worthy of riding to work.

If its a Dealim vs Hyosung.. I'd go with Dealim. 125cc no motorcycle endorsment is needed plus the Hyosung Transmissions are crap. I know I got a 03 Comet 250 GT. Its like a Soviet era Rusian tank when changing gears.

If its Japanese Bike VS Korean.. Uhmmm. Why bother asking a that question. JAPANESE FTW!

Ya, I own a Honda. Kills any Korean bike. But Japanese bikes cost a fortune here and so they are not the best rides for commuting. The only Japanese 250 available in the country is the VTR 250 (well and some old CB 250 Hornets...sweet as, but not the best for commuting). Priced at 6 mil, it's ridiculously expensive for a commuter bike. 4 mil would be a reasonable price, but thanks to Korea's protectionist policies........

I hear ya about the Comet, shifts like a tractor. That alone keeps me away from these bikes. I'm hoping the newer model don't do this, still can't find anyone who knows.

I would go with a Daelim for a commuter. Mainly because they use the Honda design to this day. I love my Comet but as I said the transmission is garbage. Engine on the other hand is really damned good. Also the bike is cheap to fix and maintain.
