Is there a sizeable mountain near seoul that I can hike? I would like a pretty tough or lengthy one so i get a good workout. |

i mountain bike, at achasan and namhansansong - both are quite close and offer plenty of hiking. also, if you take the jungang line straight east to it's end, paldang, i'm sure theres some hiking there as i run into ajuma's and ajushi's heading that way with their gear every morning. |

I went to Gwanaksan last weekend - it's a pretty steep climb and a 600 m-ish summit, and there are something like 50 km of trails. You can start at Seoul National University (take the bus from the subway station) or Sadang - it takes around 4-5 hours to walk from one to the other over the peaks.
Alternatively, Bukhansan National Park is a good option but I've not been there. Be prepared for crowds. |
