	  | General Motors Corp. has recently been in discussions about acquiring Chrysler LLC, according to people familiar with the matter, in a dramatic sign of the pressures mounting on the U.S. auto industry to restructure amid a deep slump in sales.
The upheaval in financial markets has rendered inactive the talks between Chrysler owner Cerberus Capital Management LLC and GM, which wants to shed its stake in GMAC, these people said. However, if markets stabilize, the talks could be renewed because both parties want to move those assets quickly, these people added.

				| Wow, that's going to be interesting to follow and see if it happens. Chrysler of course was part of Daimler and then was spun back off into two seperate units because of Chrysler's poor performance. | |

				| Maybe we can do a bailout of GM. We have plenty of money and the economy will implode into Armageddon if we don't bail them out.
Actually, I just want to see us bail GM out to see what this guy http://news.cnet.com/bank-robber-hires-decoys-on-craigslist-fools-cops/ will do as an encore. It's hilarious how he got his bailout money back from the banks. If we bail out GM, I'm expecting a good story coming out of Monroe, WA about a GM car getting taken off a lot for free and not returned.
