McCain needs to pull a rabbit out of his hat if he's going to win in November.
Any ideas?
I was thinking that maybe this was a good time for him to be Saved. McCain could announce that he has found Jesus in his heart, and will dedicate his term in office to doing Christ's work on Earth.
Hey, it worked for George Bush, more or less. |

But this would basically amount to his admitting that any previous professions of Christian faith(of which I am sure there are many) were lies. |

I think during the debate, he'll claim that Bob Schieffer is really a woman. |

But of a longshot here, but Im speculatingng that McCain MIGHT have dug up some previously unknown Obama-Ayers connection, and is planning to spring it on Obama in the debate, after Obama has claimed that he only knew Ayers from the commitee and the fundraiser.
Thats a bit Hollywood, perhaps. Im not ever sure if you are allowed to reveal stuff like that in a debate. |

If McCain can get through the rest of October without drooling all over himself, forgetting significant information, babbling incoherently about some topic and having details whispered to him, or losing his way when walking 10 feet across a platform he will have pulled off a major October surprise.
McCain is toast.
Obama should win by 10% or more in the popular vote.
Obama landslide: 400 + electoral votes
McLoser: 138 - electoral votes. |

The desperation among the right-wing blogosphere is palpable. Now they're trying to make out this guy to be the glorious October Surprise...

George Wallace used to rail on about Communists as well. But with more cause, as Civil Rights advancement occurred as the Warren Court RADICALLY expanded the power of the Federal gov't.
Now, calling Obama a Communist is just a fig-leaf covering up racism. |

I'm afraid the October surprise was a fizzle.
So long as people are voting with there eyes wide open. |

A double brain transplant might do the trick.
Lacking that, a mind meld would be the second best option. If McCain could transfer his knowledge of the issues to Palin, and Palin could transfer her energy to McCain, the ticket would look more plausible.
Would this work? |

I think the most surprising thing that McCain has accomplished this October is getting the panel of analysts on Fox News (including Bill Krstol and Brit Hume) to agree that after three debates it's clear that Obama comes across as more presidential.
(Of course, Sean Hannity is still in partisan attack mode - along with Karl Rove, who thinks that McCain should have attacked Obama's character more earlier on...) |

Don't know if you want to call it an October surprise, but it seems like Joe the Plumber was his ace in the hole. With this character, McCain was able to do a number of things:
1) Have a young, middle class, "common guy" spokesperson to voice his political platform, all the while appearing non-partisan.
2) Carry his side of debate far past the debate itself, which he knew he couldn't hit out of the park.
3) Deflect attention away from Sarah Palin.
4) Label any criticism of him as an example of the "media elite" attacking the "common man".
5) Have something that was (kind of) initiated by Obama backfire on him.
6) Draw attention away from his character and personality.
It'll be interesting to see how this plays out over the next week (because I doubt it'll last longer than that). |

I predict McCain will promise to do for all Americans what Alaska does for Alaskans.
McCain has already said the quickest way to create new jobs is to cut taxes (wild cheers from the crowd!!!!!). This is obviously BS. The quickest way to create jobs is for the government to hire people, but never mind reality. Since this gets such a wildly enthusiastic response, McCain will take the obvious next step.
McCain will promise to eliminate all personal income taxes. And he will promise to send every American a check for $2,000 every year.
McCain: "No one likes paying taxes. And cutting taxes is the quickest way to create jobs. Therefore, once I am elected, I will eliminate the income tax. And I will do it retroactively. No only that, but I will send every man, woman and child in the United States a check for $2,000. And I will do it every year. So, Joe the Plumber, vote for me and all your problems are over."
Imagine the applause!!!!!!!!! McCain will win in a landslide!
And when he runs for re-election in 2012 (or Palin), he will promise to eliminate corporate taxes, too.
Hey, if Alaska can do it, why not do it for everyone? |
