Many gyopos and other minorities feel that westerners (black and white) are ignorant about their own minorities. Many of the ones I met expressed disappointment at the fact they they know more about Koreans than the Korean minorities in their own country. After all, these gyopos never grew up having people speak Korean to them where as Koreans here have foreigners trying to speak Korean to them. So yeah, gyopos feel misunderstood by both Koreans and white/black westerners. Maybe this is the reason why gyopos cling with other gyopos both here in Korea and in their adopted countries. Just a thought.

There is a certain ignorance that trails being part of a majority, but its not a general rule

I don't quit seem to understand the point you are trying to make though?

I did although have a very negative experience with a gyopo. I went to Neverland, and in the evening we had some dinner with some korean friends.

I saw some Koreans (I assumed gyopo's due to dress style) light up cigarettes and told them with a pleasant smile that this was a no smoke zone. This was the first time anyone insulted me for being a "white ass".
He certainly had some difficulties dealing with Caucasians, so I told him he spend too much time in America, and forgot all about his manners.

I never expected anyone to react in such a negative tone to a simple rebuttal that one should not light up in an area filled with kids ...

In this case the Gyopo showed the worst of two worlds, imho.
