When there are 2 things and we mention it separately, we use 'one/the other' pattern. 'I have two daughters. One is 2 years old, and the other is nine.'
2 questions
It's also gramatically correct to use 'one/another' as in 'The manners considered polite in one country aren't in another.' That's correct right??
I'm assuming so.
Also
Is the 'one/others' pattern okay to use?? I don't think it's gramatically correct.
Appreciate your help fellas.

Use one/the other when there are only 2 things being considered.
Use one/another when there are 3+ things and end with 'the other'.
(There are 5 days in the work week. One day is Monday. Another day is Tuesday; another is Wednesday; another Thursday and the other is Friday.) |

Sure it can.
The customs of one country might be considered rude in others. |
