|

ok so i have a 1st gen 30 gig zune whos screen broke,, and its pretty usless with out a screen. It would be cool if i could just use it as an external hard drive. I have found some hacks that change the regestry to "trick" the computer into kinda making the zune into a hardrive ,, but not really,, so what i want is to totally reformat the zune so that it is an external hard drive. I want to earase all traces of Zune programing in it.
anybody have any suggestions? |

thanks for that but, thats the one i tried. The problem there is
1. to actually download and upload things into the zune you have to run the zune software, start syncing a song and then shut down the program while its syncing through Windows task manager.
2. Since its a regestry hack it only works on the computer that you did it on,, so i can't use the "external hard drive" with any other computer.
3. It does show another hardrive in your "my computer" file but, it won't let you reformat it.
so i don't kknow what to do |

I don't think you can. I think the ability copy/paste songs onto the player without dealing with proprietary software is one of the most important features for an mp3 player to have. My Creative player lets you do it. |
