Many things have rattled my curiosity and intrigue during 2 months or so in Korea, but sports day at my high school may have taken the cake. I'm curious as to what sports day is like for teachers at other high schools?

Here's a bit about my experience:

"The crack of the bat, the ripple of the twine in the soccer goal, the wait is that a donkey wearing hot pants while doing a homoerotic dance around a stripper pole and voraciously humping the air?"

And I won toothpaste!

If you care to read more about my sports day, strayblog.wordpress.com is my platform. Just a bit of a plug....

I am going to watch one across the street from my academy next week. It should be interesting judging from the practices I see from the window everyday!

We played one staff room vs. the other staff room last year. My team lost. The majority of the women screamed like babies and refused to actually play. The winning team won 2 boxes of toothpaste each and our team won 1 box each. Oh, and my 70 year old principal wore a bright purple jumpsuit and overexerted himself.

Sports day would imply they are doing more than just one.
At my school is was a soccer tournament all day.

Then not so long ago they had fitness day, where the kids must run 100m, do push ups, sit ups etc....

They run like GIRLS! (all boys school) worse than girls even....i was shocked.
And most cant to push ups or sit ups to save themselves.

no donkey or toothpaste however....
