I am a complete newbie! I will be in Korea on the 21st on a tourist visa (USA) for 90 days and wanted to look into some schools and acquiring a job. I am currently talking to a placement agency called dreamworks recruiting service. A lot of people have reported good/honest schools and I was wondering if you could tell me of which schools to avoid and which would be a pleasure to work for? I would like a school in or around the seoul area, or at least in gyeonggi-do. This is my first time out of the US and I have only 6 months experience working in a school.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You are aware that (with a few exceptions) that new E2 applications are required to have a consular interview in their home countries BEFORE a work visa will be issued.
The days of the quick and easy visa run to Japan (for newbies) are gone.

OH!! I wasn't aware of that! I thought a quick boat trip to japan would've done it! Oh well, I guess I'll just enjoy my time there and then come home and try then. still, I heard that you could possibly do the interview over webcam? That's what the recruiter told me anyway...

You can arrive here on your tourist visa(with all your documents) and get your degree verified by KCUE(Korean Council for University Education) will take about a week if you get it done here when you arrive. Get your visa issuance number and then you are off to Japan. This is all possible once you have never had a black mark against you here with K immigration.
I did this a few months ago. |
