Hi y'all.
there's a small chance I'll be taking an IT job at a chaebol. Does anyone have any experiences they'd like to share or advice?
I know this is a dumb thing to ask - but what can I expect in terms of salary (I have a master's in CS)..
I know this isn't exactly the right forum for this, but I though i'd throw it out there and see what bites.
Thanks! |

Will you be working under a Western contract or a Korean one? |

That's a good question. I'd be hired in-country, so it's quite possible that i'd be hired on a Korean contract (which I understand is much worse than a western contract).
I know it sounds like I know nothing at all about what I'm getting into, and that's because, well ... I don't. I kind of fell into this opportunity (I wasn't specifically looking for a tech job) -- I wrote the entrance exam - passed, and just did the final interview yesterday. I have a feeling that I did okay.
To be honest, the process itself was pretty interesting, and I'd have no regrets one way or the other... but now that I'm getting close to actually getting this job, I'm getting more and more curious about what it would actually be like. |
