What the hell? Is it me or are the mosquitos back in full force? Seems like every night after we go to sleep they come out for a snack. We haven't opened any windows at all. Limit the time the door is open (by running in and out). So.... tell me.......Can mosquitos lay eegs in your home? I remember seeing them in pools of water in the forest back home, but in your home there isn't any standing water. Can they lay eggs in plants etc? Any help would be appreciated. I F#$king hate them!

P.S. I love those electric tennis racket for killing the little guys. Less blood on the walls.

Wow, you still have mosquitoes? It's gotten too cool in Gangwondo. I'm chilly willy. brrrr. No more bugs for the past 2 or 3 days.

I hate them too. They all need to die.

korea is the land of standing water. ever noticed how a 'clean' bathroom is more wet and mildew-y than clean? another problem is that floor drains don't have the proper u-bend which prevents unwanted gases and bugs from entering. yuck. that's why your bathroom smells like a sewer all the time and why bugs keep getting into your apatuh.

I doubt that mosquitoes are flying in through the drain. In my apartment as in most FT's, the screens never fit flush against the window frame. I have tried to close these gaps with heavy tape, but a few still get in. They also like to hangout outside my door, so a little bug spray on the outside of the door frame helps.

As I look out my window, it seems every building near me has a mosquito breeding program with plastic and ceramic containers sitting out gathering rain water.

I have the same screen doesn't fit door problem and get mosquito when I open the door to let fresh air in/let my laundry dry. The solution I came up with was the plug-in mogi killer. I still have mosquitoes in my place but they stop biting me once I plugged that bad boy in and placed it by my bed. If this ever fails, I'm going out and buying a mosquito net.

Get one of the small, plug-in, heated liquid, mosquito repeller units - about W7,000 on sale, W9,000 regular price - the type with the screw in jar of liquid and a round, solid 'wick'. You can get single refills or in packages of three.

They work like a hot damn!

I live down on the south coast where mosquitos are around from May to December. I had a real problem until I got on of these units, and since then no mosquitos what so ever! Very Happy

Those little bastards never leave me alone! You would think it would be too chilly for them, but here in the south .... well ... they are still with me. I just killed one about 15 minutes ago!

The bites here don't seem so bad compared to the ones in Thailand or the states. They usually stop itching after a couple of minutes. By morning I cannot tell I had been bitten. Nonetheless, it is a pain when trying to sleep.

You're seeing more of them now cuz they're getting desperate. The weather's cooler outside, so they, like all the other bugs, are trying to get indoors. When I lived next to a mountain in Seoul, I used to get them until late November.

Like others have suggested, just get one of the electric plugin mosquito repellents, the liquid kind. I have one with an extension cord and a switch so I can turn it on and off like a bedside lamp. Works great.

Do mosquitoes actually serve a useful purpose for the ecosystem?
Definitely something for Room 101.

Smart mosquito? Compared with what? I find that the few Mosquito's we get in the southern UK summer are *far* more sneaky than any mosquito I've encountered here. They always seem to fly in the direction of LCD screens here, I can't ever remember any mosquito back home being so reckless. Laughing They swoop and dive, hide and run, commence bombing runs, execute strategic maneuvers etc... Mosquito's here just seem to sit on walls waiting to be sprayed, zapped, stunned or whatever you have in store for them.
