|
|
I searched and searched, but can't find a way to identify Korean pharmaceuticals. Documentation is not provided with pills nor does it seem to be online. I asked my 2 co-teachers and showed them my medicine, but they could not ID them. I am the type to not just simply trust others, but I look into things a bit just to be sure since it is ultimately my responsibility and right to know about the products I buy into. |

Make a copy of your prescription before you hand it over to your pharmacist. |

welcome to the world of korean pharmacies. your best bet, do what Jake_Kim suggested. but since you already have the pills, you have two options. Go back to the doctor who wrote the perscription and ask the nice gentleman (or woman) what they gave you, or you can always go back to the pharmacy where you had it filled and ask them. Chances are they'll be able to id them and write them in english for you.
p.s. i totally agree with the being careful when it comes to drugs. I had a bacterial infection in my throat while i was there and the doctor perscribed me antivirals used to treat STD's.....yeah, go figure. |

Didn't you know? Korean doctors think all foreigners have STD. |

Good advice on copying the script before using it. Why didn't I think of that one?
I stopped by the pharmacy during lunch today, but only got a confused look on their faces.
Can anyone tell me about these?
I have a small dark green pill with VS imprinted on one side and H on the other.
White pill with AG where the A doesn't have the horizontal crossbar.
Another smaller white pill TLT imprint. |

here.
on the main page you can also search (in english) main ingredient names and find out which Korean pills contain them so you can find OTC medicine you might be looking for. |

You could also ask the pharmacist to tell you what your pills are. A Korean wouldn't do this, but you are not Korean. Just use a sweeter tone of voice than I did when I seriously embarrassed my first Korean boss...she was kind of a jerk anyway! |

They don't give you a copy of the prescription; my hospital gives two. I hand them both over to the pharmacist and they stamp them, then give on back to me.
A lot are written in Konglishee, so you might be able to decode it into English. (did that sentence make any sense?). |
