[Ya-ta Boy]

The morning papers say Levi Stubbs, lead singer for the Four Tops, has died. "In 1995, Stubbs was diagnosed with cancer, and later, a stroke, and stopped touring. Stubbs died October 17, 2008 at his home in Detroit after a long serious illness including cancer and a stroke. He was 72. "(Wiki)

I think it was Lester Bangs who described Stubbs' style as 'singing against the music'. I always liked that description. He made listening to the radio in high school great fun.

Sad loss.

I suppose we are getting into the period when all the legendary big names from the 60's will start shuffling off this mortal coil. Except Keith Richards, of course. He truly is, Indestructible!!
