Judging by other "festivals" I have attended or heard about in
Korea, I can pretty well guarantee it will be crap. To have a proper
Oktoberfest you would need a minimum of 3 things: Imported
German beers on tap, quality German sausages and fresh German
pretzels. Given Korea's: Current state of culture, experience with
other cultures and general knowledge about foreign food and drink;
I can say with confidence this will be a disappointing joke to be
avoided at all costs. Give Korea 150-200 years of development and
then try Oktoberfest.

Apparently you've never been.
Cultural it is not, but it's all you can drink beer and they give you a take home travel mug. All for about the same price as regular admission. It's an excuse to get drunk, not take in German culture.

When I was in front of LW a couple days ago I saw no mention of it, but hoping it comes back.

Hey buddy, crap is still crap. What did the mug say? "Das Cass"?
"Von Hite"? Sorry, but if I'm gonna drag my ass to some place on
a weekend it has to have, at least, some semblance of quality. Korea
just isn't there yet. Look at the "Seoul World Food Festival" they had
a few months back. Foreign foods - zero, Korean foods - who cares,
free samples - zero, "World Food Fest - NOT"

What the *beep* do you know? Oktoberfest at Lotte World is a lot of fun. You can't argue with all you can drink beer and rollercoasters! Who cares if it's shit beer, it doesn't cost much. I don't think it's on this year though, some Halloween thing maybe.

By the way, I don't know what World Food Festival you were at, but I went to one around Cheonggyecheon that was fantastic. There was food from every single continent. I had some Paraguayan, Vietnamese, Russian and god knows what else. Cheap, good beer too! All this is in the sunshine made for a great day.

I had a good time at the Oktoberfest hosted by Lufthansa at the Marriott in Busan. The beer was Korean, but the food was great and the music was too.

Haha, I could probably fry up a dog turd and you people would be
dancing a jig and pinching each others arses to see who could have
the first bite.

Laughed so hard that I snorted my morning coffee through my nose and onto my keyboard. You were responsible for this. My coworkers think I'm on drugs. Thank you very much...

I don't really see how going to an amusement park and drinking beer makes me a sucker just because it's not authentic. North Americans have bastardized plenty of holidays, including two notable ones from my country, but I don't particularly care as long as it's fun.

I went to the October fest two years ago. So fun! We went on a Saturday afternoon, lots of rides, all you can drink. I wish it was on again this year.

To Cohiba, why u gotta hate? If people want to ride roller coasters and drink beer, I say let them. You can stay home and troll on Dave's all day if you want, but I'll take the gyro spin anyday.
