Today was midterms at my public elementary school. After the students left for the day I took a short walk around to stretch my legs. I noticed that something was not right. There were no afterschool chinese food parties in the break room, and no teachers in any of the classrooms.

Then I noticed, each homeroom had a huge stack of presents inside. When I got to the first floor I found some of the teachers making gift runs to their cars. One teacher was actually stuffing her backseat and then trying to slam her back door shut before they fell out.

I was truly a spectacle of the Korean education system.
