I am looking to start a bar/sports bar marketed towards ex-pats in Suji. We will have the usual pool table, fooseball tables, dance floor, etc... One more thing that I am interested in doing is putting in big screens for sporting events. My question is, would you be willing to travel from Suwon or Bundang to Suji for a Hockey night, Football night, or English footy night?

Please, please please!
But, three things,

you might want to consider replaying games, maybe even a kind of on demand service, I think most of the expats in those areas work normal hours, which often conflict with watching the live games.

I think you're better of getting feedback from Facebook, there are a few Yongin and Bundang groups.

need a bartender?

Good idea. That is what we are looking at doing. Record the games on slingplayer and play them in doubleheaders the night after. Sunday night hockey night, Monday night u.s. football night and so on...

I am not sure about what part of Suji just yet.

Import some good beer to have on tap!!!!!!!!!!! Would love to have a variety of beer in Suji, as I'm sure others would too. An IPA, a darker ale/stout, and a nice lager/pilsner would be great!

if you build it, he will come!

remember WA BAR? was packed on friday nights and so so on saturdays
then again that was before monkey beach and Dublin fame! but thankfully those two places have gone down hill now and basically SUCK BALLS!

so yes I think people in yeongtong, yongin etc will come..
but rememeber! if you open a bar you open it for koreans! dont open a bar with only foreigners in mind.. koreans are your market! foreigners will just turn up becuase its a foreign bar.. but koreans will pay your bills!

yep yep, i'd be in for sure, and i'd bring friends, and my friends would bring friends.

ideally, some relatively cheap food would be nice too - and something healthy apart from just fries, even though i'm sure i'd end up ordering the fries more often than not anyway...

(i'm in yongin)

I live around Ori/Yong In. Would I go to a sports bar? No way. But then again, I don't like sports. If you had live bands playing I'd definitely go though. Just not that boring acoustic guitar stuff. When I drink beer, I want to hear loud electric guitars, not . . . acoustic.

But good luck with your business.
