|
I had another thread about my situation.
But I have a question regarding my contract.
I have compared my GEPIK contract with other teachers under GEPIK, and all of their contracts state that they only have to teach 22 hours, and anything after that is overtime. My contract states that I have to teach 25 hours and anything over that is overtime.
Then I looked really closely, and my school did in fact edit that part of the contract. They changed the maximum teaching hours from 22 to 25 hour.
My school also edited my living situation. For my furnished apartment, they also took out "sofa, desk, and cleaner".
Are schools allowed to edit the GEPIK contract??
I'm curious.
Thanks |

If you signed with the school and not directly through GEPIK, then YES.
If you didn't research your contract before signing on the dotted line, then you hooped yourself.
NEXT contract you can INSIST on the standard GEPIK contract or even negotiate better terms for yourself if you are popular with the administration.
As an alternative, finish this one out and change schools.
Ya got duped but you signed it so you are stuck with it. Make sure you don't work a second over 40 hours (so all that extra planning and research aren't going to happen and your co-teacher can piss and whine into the wind) and don't teach anything over 25 classes without supplemental pay.
