|
|
Hi guys. Sorry to ask all these Q's here, but my "handler" is completely unhelpful.
1) What are the hours of this orientation?
2) Are our evenings free?
3) Are we getting paid?
4) Are meals provided?
5) What's the dress code?
6) How many people on average show up?
7) If I come, sign in, and duck out... what happens?
If a tree falls in a forest... |

3. It's paid. That means you will still get your full salary, but nothing extra. If you have any overtime for this week, you'll likely lose that. |

4) Yes, something. Possibly some lovely kimchi too and all the coffee mix you can shake a stick at.
5) You will possibly see the 'village people' there. Dead gen. Some take non formal dress as meaning fancy dress. |

Re the sign in duck out question : Are you talking about doing it once .. ie signing in and then leaving attending nothing ? Or doing it with each session ... Last year the sign in was with each individual session and they did follow up on people who weren't there ... If you are supposed to be there and you are not ... then the possible consequences would start with not being paid for the days you are not there ... to potentially at least losing your job ... Because people did try and do this the year before they were extra tight on things and checking up on that last year ...
If you really think you already know everything and it will be a total waste of time for you ... then you are better of talking to your school and convincing them of that ... than being caught out for not attending when they think you are attending ... |

1) What are the hours of this orientation?
9-5
2) Are our evenings free?
yes, if you want them to be
3) Are we getting paid?
Yes, you are still on salary (just no overtime that week)
4) Are meals provided?
Yes.
5) What's the dress code?
Naked is not acceptable. shirt and pants are required.
6) How many people on average show up?
More than they have room for...lol...
7) If I come, sign in, and duck out... what happens?
Probably nothing, but since they are paying you to be there.... are you a thief - getting paid to skip?
If a tree falls in a forest... |
.... does it make a sound if there is no-one there to hear it?
...it feeds the mushrooms.

Just because one of my co-teachers said that doesn't mean that it's accurate, you know. |

But you are not the first person to say/suggest it will be in Yongin and if someone can tell us the name of the resort it would end the speculation.

Hyundai Learning Center

My handler said this is the website for the place we're going to be.
*At least for middle school level
And I wasn't saying I *was* going to ditch out, I was just curious. |

나 . 장 수 : 현 대 인 재 개 발 원
This is what it says on the sheet I received. It has an address too but I'm getting a little tired of typing hanguel since I don't know the language except for place names and such.
But I do see on here where it says "Bojeong Yeok."
Cheers.
As I understand it this was Hyundai Learning Center, but Hynix has bought or taken it over now in some way. Could be wrong about this. I've been to this place around 3 times. It's OK except in the winter time.
In the winter it's not very comfortable because it doesn't have ondol heating. Instead, warm air is blown out through heating vents located near the ceiling in each room. Since warm air rises, blowing it into the room at the ceiling is a very bad design. They should've stuck with something they understand -- ondol heating. |
