|
|
I gather the first $150 of an item shipped into Korea is clear. But how much is the duty and VAT on an electronic item if I buy it abroad and have it shipped to Korea.
If it is $350, and the first $150 is free, then how much is billed on the next $200?
Am I approaching that right? Anyone have experience with this?
Thanks! |

I don't think it works like that. If an item exceeds $150, you will be taxed on the full amount. So if your item was $350, you'll get charged tax not only on the full $350 but whatever the shipping charges were. The duty will be charged in won and with the strong dollar, the customs Web site says the rate is around 1250.
