Seriously - make a split sided sheet with the common collocations for either in lists. then make a sentence gap-fill sheet.
for fun have a sentence auction game where each team gets 10,000 bucks. pre-teach/discuss the concept of an auction. make a list of sentences. you read out sentences with make and do in either correct or incorrect form.
they have to bid against each other to buy each sentence if they are sure it's right.
you get 1 point if you buy a correct sentence.
the game ends when a team has run out of money or the last sentence has been bought.
team with the most point wins.
put team names on the board and rather than announce the point winner, just mark up the point winner in dramatic fashion! sometimes feint to the loser first for extra drama! fun! |
