Hiya guys. I'm awaiting activation of my account in the World Job forum, but I received an offer letter from a company I had applied to through a job board. Wanting a bit of advice, just wandering if it's legit or not.
Thanks,
Wesley

**** SCAM SCAM SCAM ****
They tried to scam me with this one too. It's an older scam, and I'm sure others will speak up in the next day or two.
They will ask you to wire half of the "VISA Fees", say $300, but they're just a bunch of guys in some other country (not Emirates) waiting to take your money and run.
Notice that their web address (http://www.uaeimmigrations.tk/) ends in ".tk"? That's how you get a free website using the domain from Tokelau, NEW ZEALAND.
From wikipedia:
Quote: |
.tk is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Tokelau, a territory of New Zealand located in the South Pacific.
Tokelau provides any interested individuals .tk domain names free of charge, and you pick if you want advertising banners on all provided domains. |
They're sending you a letter of employment? Did they even talk to you first? The UAE isn't China - for a real job, they'll want to interview you first and check your qualifications.
Watch out - there is a 0% chance that this is not a scam! |
