Seldom post. I spent last year living in Bundang and loved it. Coming back for year 2 and although I love Bundang...I feel compelled to try a new place. I would like to try somewhere in Seoul proper, but don't really want to forego nice parks and spatious apartments. Is it possible to find this in Seoul? Please advise where.

I have been to many lovely places in Seoul, but they seem to either have crappy apartments with nice parks OR decent apartments with no real parks. I was fine with the nightlife situation in Bundang, but like I said...I want to try somewhere new.

Thanks for you help and sorry for writing a book.

(I searched already....I just couldnt' find anything)

thanks for the advice.

I have researched it a bit. Is that considered part of Seoul? I mean does it feel more Seoul like than Bundang?

I lived in a rather nice apartment in Bundang (Jungja) last year, however to get a better job I had to move to Nowon. I can say without any doubt - stay in Bundang. I can't think of anything that Nowon has that Bundang hasn't. Nowon definitely feels more like Seoul than Bundang, but in my opinion that's a minus point for Nowon.

Parks, western restaurants, foreigner hangouts, transport, nice walking areas, are all better in Bundang. Busy, dirty streets, nasty smells, over population are to be found all over Seoul and Nowon in no exception.

Not sure about other areas in Seoul

Thank you. Very helpful post. I guess, my problem is a small one. I've been to Seoul many times, but I just feel like I've missed out. I could quickly go back to my old school, but I guess I am drawn by the idea of more money being in Seoul (especially with the currency now).

You mentioned you moved for to get a better job....was it worth it? Or would you rather being working at the other school and enjoy Bundang? I guess your comment to stay in Bundang, was taking into consideration your new job right?

I would definitely suggest the Jamsil area. It's not quite as new or clean as Bundang, but it is pretty open and widespread, with a lot of parks and recreation. It's where Lotte World and Olympic park reside, so there's a few trendy things to do there, if that's your thing.

Awesome suggestion. Thank you. I've been to Jamsil and you're right...I just forgot about it as an option. I will look into it.
