The 2008 Intellectual Property International Conference will take place in Seoul this weekend, bringing together a number of intellectual-related experts from around the world.
The annual event, scheduled for Friday to Sunday, is organized by AIPPI-Korea and LES-Korea under the theme of intellectual asset management and commercialization.
AIPPI, or the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property, is the World`s leading non-government organization for research and policy on the protection of intellectual property and intellectual asset management.
LES is a sister organization of AIPPI, which is the world`s largest licensing association.
"Up to now, delegates from more than 36 countries have reported their participation. I believe all the participants will be able to have opportunities to broaden their knowledge in intellectual assets and strengthen networking power through this meeting," Kim Yoon-bae, president of AIPPI-Korea, said.
The opening ceremony will take place on Friday and the plenary sessions will start on Saturday. During the first session, Moon Kil-choo, vice president of Korea Institute of Science and Technology, will give a keynote speech on intellectual property policy in non-profit institutions.

While the delegates are in Korea they can stock up on pirated DVDs, CDs, and knock-offs of major brands. Hope they enjoy their stay. |
