"The message from Barack Obama on Saturday night might have been John McCains: Its not over till its over.
Still, the temptation surely was there on a sun-splashed October day when he spoke at the Liberty Memorial to a crowd estimated at perhaps 75,000 by a Kansas City parks official. Under the Arch in St. Louis, it had been even better 80,000 to 100,000."

It appears the idea has taken hold now that Obama is going to win. I'd say he's closed the deal. |

I'm from Missouri. Missouri is largely democrat so Obama will win the majority vote. |

Bush won MO in 2000 and 2004. Outside STL, KC, and Columbia, MO is quite conservative, especially in the southern part of the state. |

I think the Powell enforsement sends it over the top.
The Palin campaign probably killed the McCain campaign.
The reaction to the economic crisis made it clear the
McCain 2008 was not McCain 2000.
It's really very sad when an old colt goes to pasture. |

Yep, that's very true, but surely those who voted republican can now see that it only did ill will on our nation to elect Bush. This definition of conservative does not so much mean conservative like conservation and frugal use of resources, but conservative in the line of being close minded and overtly judgmental. Maybe they'll accurately judge that Bush was the worst president in US history and only did nothing less than terrible for us all, rich or poor. |

Sort of like this post? Actually, fiscal conservatism does indeed advocate conservation and frugal use of resources. Of course, you may have been referring to neoconservatives, social conservatives, etc. Yes, there are many closed minded individuals of every label, but you're painting with a pretty broad brush here. In fact, I've known many "open minded free thinking liberals" who are far more closed minded and judgmental than most conservatives I've been around. This doesn't mean they're bad people, just not the most pleasant! |
