Can anyone speak for this hotel?
http://www.travelchinaguide.com/hotel/dongsi-super-8-hotel-beijing.htm
I'm looking for a hotel/motel around Tiananmen Sq for a couple nights....any other recommendations are appreciated.
I'm not against staying in a hostel, as long as they have good security and/or private rooms. |

Wow, it's so random to run into your post. I stayed there one night a couple of months ago.
I was exhausted from my flight and I'd already been to Beijing twice before, so I didn't do much sightseeing or walking around and can't speak much about the location. It was near a main road, though, with lots of restaurants and shops.
It's clean enough but it's nothing special...more or less like a korean love motel, but without some of the random perks you get in those places. Make sure you have the address printed in chinese to get there, my taxi driver had a difficult time finding it.
The staff speak english well enough and there's a free computer and a free breakfast. |

Oh, and if you're looking for recommendations then I'd say look at the red lantern hostel. It's the best hostel I've stayed at in Asia, great clean rooms, helpful/nice staff, all in all a great place to stay. |
