In a TV ad and in speeches, Obama is making bogus claims that McCain plans to cut $880 billion from Medicare spending and to reduce benefits.
A TV spot says McCain's plan requires "cuts in benefits, eligibility or both."
Obama said in a speech that McCain plans "cuts" that would force seniors to "pay more for your drugs, receive fewer services, and get lower quality care."
These claims are false, and based on a single newspaper report that says no such thing. |
Anyone supporting Obama want to defend this? |

Obsms has enough money to say these things now and McCain doesn't have enough money to refute it.
McCain should have stayed away from that abortion spam campaign. |

McCain is actually denying this now? He's more of scumbag then I thought.

This is in regards to John McCain's plan to give everyone that $5,000 healthcare credit, and how he would do that without raising taxes:
Quote: |
John McCain would pay for his health plan with major reductions to Medicare and Medicaid, a top aide said, in a move that independent analysts estimate could result in cuts of $1.3 trillion over 10 years to the government programs |
Quote: |
Douglas Holtz-Eakin, Sen. McCain's senior policy adviser, said Sunday that the campaign has always planned to fund the tax credits, in part, with savings from Medicare and Medicaid. Those government health-care programs serve seniors, poor families and the disabled. Medicare spending for the fiscal year ended Sept. 30 is estimated at $457.5 billion.
|
This is public information knowledge that you can find anywhere on the internet news sources well-before this Obama ad that just came out today.
McCain has a long history of being against medicare, anyways, I don't see how McCain is upset now that Obama states it. It's okay if McCain states it himself, but if his opponent does, then he's a liar? What? |

I"m just confused as to how 5000$ is supposed to cover anything more than the occasional trip to the Doctor and the VERY occasional out patient trip. |

During the Canadian election debate someone tried to pull that one on the current PM. He went to a private clinic for a legitimate health care concern... it backfired because the clinic was still covered my NATIONAL health car coverage. |
