This is one Christmas event which definitely needs to be talked about early... a friend of mine is trying to organize a Santacon.

Check out details on the facebook group page:

and more on the official website:

Basically, a bunch of idiots get together, wear Santa suits, roam around the city, and drink beer. What could possibly go wrong?

So, look out for Santa suits. Buy em. And join.

Seoul will remember the day the Santas came to town... hehehe.

I've been doing this for about three years now over three cities and have always had a great time. Now that I am in Seoul for Christmas this year, I think it is time to bring this world wide tradition alive here. They have it Cambodia, Thailand, Japan and elsewhere in Asia, why not here. So this is a group to see how many people we can organise to go on a merry santa romp through Seoul, South Korea.

For more information about what Santarchy/Santacon is, go to http://santarchy.com

In a nutshell, we all go out dressed as santa, (there are a few rules, which will be posted at a bit later date) and march the streets drinking Santa's merry juice, and doing what santa does best, spreading good cheer. It is a giant santa bar hop and party. In Vancouver we had a few hundred santas, in Winnipeg, about a 150, and in Victoria, about 80. Since this is the first one in Seoul, let's see how many we can get. Anyways, that is all for now, but for more information, go to the linked website or check out the pictures.

If there is sufficient interest in staging an event such as this, I will need some volunteers to help me organise it, as there are plenty more people out there who know far more about Seoul than I do.

Oh, and one last thing. If you know where to get Santa suits, please let me know!

Sounds like festive flash mobbing.

Where do I sign?

I think this predates flash mobs. Also, way cooler than zombie walks, like the one coming up very soon.
