Did only F visa holders get the invite to the consultation event for foreign residents from immi in the mail or did E visa holders recieve it as well?

Are you planning on attending?

Why or why not.........

Got one. *uck no I'm not going. Then again it may be fun to see the local immi officials beg us to help them since they know they can't deport us.

Here is a link to the Korea Times article about it.

http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/nation/2008/10/113_32811.html

Not a lot of notice about it, I just got my letter today and Uijongu is scheduled for this Saturday.

Not sure how much info is going to be useful. It is nice to see an effort being made though. When I was married Korea didn't even offer an F-2 to foreign males. We've come a long way baby!

Sweet I'll be going too. I'm just dying to hang out with other white dudes with F-visas so we can compare how many privates we got and who has the sweetest gigs. We can all talk about how we got the almighty F-Visa by signing a piece of paper. Yeah we kick major anus!!!!!!

Actually I think the number of "white dudes" will be fairly small. I think the majority of attendees will be women of SE Asian heritage, but I could be wrong.

O.K. not really sure what you mean by that, I'm trying really hard not to jump to the "What an a$$hole" conclusion.

Was yours in English? I was told people in Gwangju got theirs in Korean. (Hmm, a meeting for foreigners with an invitation in Korean). The one in Gwangju started on the day that KT article came out, so pretty inconvenient.

It was both in Korean and English. Again I think the main target for these is the SE Asian, not the European / N. American English teacher.

That is just my assumption. I give the Koreans credit for finally showing an interest in those that have chosen to live here.

That's what I figured.........If you do actually make it make sure you post the high and low points.

I'm not going to be able to make Saturday, I'm going to try for the Nov 2nd date, unless of course I hear that it is a complete waste of time.
