So I go to a gym most days of the week and there is a hairdressers downstairs and I often bump into this pretty hiardresser on the way to the gym - we have a chat but yesterday some old bastard came marching behind me and shoved his elbow in my back.

'Hey - watch it with your elbow'

And he barks something in Korean - he is waiting for the lift so I make my excuses to the hairdresser and enter the lift with him.

'Whats your problem mate? Whats your problem?' The *beep* decides he doesn't fancy a confrontation that much and keeps his head down in silence.

Anyway - Later on in the evening - I come home from the shops and lo and behold - I bump into the same hairdresser on the street and we get talking and this *beep* - in his 40s decides to position himself between myself and the hairdresser.

'Get out of the way you effing *beep*'

He asks her something in Korean and she says 'friend friend' he moves like a foot away - as she catches her bus I grab the *beep*:

'Hey whats your problem eh?' again he shrivels up like the arsehole that he is and nothing comes out of his mouth.

If this crap had happened in England they would have got laid out like a brick - guaranteed! Evil or Very Mad

Most people are nice here but those two yesterday got my goat.

Yeah, it's kind of funny how the worst of the racists will usually yell at the woman but are two cowardly to confront the guy.

It's also kind of ironic that in such displays they're basically proving in front of everyone why a foreigner would be much desireable to a young woman than an old-fashioned Korean.

Watch yourself. Korean police are quite biased and can be a pain. Better to bite lip and smile. When you counter unpleasantness with kindness, you win. Well, at least as much as you are going to, anyway. Razz

Ignore the internet tough guys.

Sounds like you did the right thing. Not rewarding the gits for bad behavior is key to it not happening again.

You should try to understand him. He is only trying to maintain the purity
and chastity of Korean women. It looks like you have come here with less than honourable intentions remember you are only a guest here. It's better you try to get along with the locals. Remember the wise proverb when in Rome do as Romans do. I believe this can help avoid heartache while in Korea. I don't think you should accept him but try to understand him. He's really a nice guy its just a cultural misunderstanding. You should learn about Korean culture and you should not always look towards the dark side of Korea. Remember Korea Sparkling.

Thanks everybody for the replies - I would but I asked her once what she likes to do for fun and she says 'I go to the church' and points to this church with a big ass flashing red cross on the roof.

Lifes too short!

Shes cute though so if you don't mind a bit of God bothering then I will give you the heads up where she is located but mind the old bastards though! Laughing

Maybe the guy's just a kooky old nut?

Sometimes you just have to let the little things bounce off you.
